Un chasseur anglais s'est écrasé au sol samedi soir aux environs de Le Meillard. Le pilote blessé, qui s'était parachuté a été capturé par des soldats de l'armée d'occupation.

Décollage station 347, Ibsley, Hampshire, UK.
Mission : Dive-Bombing sur Cambrai - Bombardement en piqué.
Le chasseur est abattu par la Flak alors qu'il se trouve à 11.000 pieds. Le pilote parvient à sauter en parachute. Il est 19 heures 46. L'appareil volait en n° 3 de la section yellow.
L'avion s'écrase à Le Meillard à 10 kilomètres à l'ouest de Doullens.

A son bord Captain Thompson D LITCHFIELD, pilote USAAF, est fait prisonnier dès son atterrissage, O 437975 - North Carolina, envoyé au Stalag VII A
