To the accompaniment of cheers from the inhabitants of liberated towns and villages, the Guards Armoured Division begins its triumphant procession through northern France and Belgium.An M10 self-propelled gun from the division's anti-tank unit, the 21st Anti-Tank Regiment RA, and a Crusader AA tank and several Stuart (Honey) light tanks belonging to the 1st Armoured Battalion Coldstream Guards HQ squadron thread their way past cheering crowds in the centre of Beauvais where the local fire brigade has turned out on parade to celebrate the town's liberation.
In Moreuil, girls wave to and throw flowers at Guardsmen as they ride through the town.

The enthusiasm with which the girls in Moreuil threw flowers at British troops driving past them and then ran out to retrieve them from the road to throw them once more at another lorry-load of soldiers is worth noting.
